Brett Moffitt will race full-time for Our Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2021, the team announced Thursday.

Moffitt will race the team’s No. 02 Chevrolet, a car he ran 29 races in this past season.

In joining the team full-time, Moffitt will leave GMS Racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and will not compete with them next season.

“2020 was a learning year for the entire Our Motorsports operation, and the program is now ready to step up to another level,” said Moffitt. “I’m thankful for the last two seasons with GMS Racing, and the support Maury Gallagher, Spencer Gallagher, Ron Booth, Mike Beam, and the entire team gave me.”

After winning the Truck Series championship with Hattori Racing in 2018, Moffitt raced his way to five wins, 23 top-five’s and 33 top-ten’s with GMS Racing the last two seasons.

“Brett Moffitt will not be returning to GMS for the 2021 season. We can’t thank Moffitt enough for his commitment to GMS over the past two years,” GMS President Mike Beam said in a statement. “We wish him the best of luck at Our Motorsports next year.”

In 32 career starts in the Xfinity Series, Moffitt has eight top-10 finishes and one top-five finish.
