No. 12 Cup Series Team penalized for improperly mounted ballast

The No. 12 Team Penske Ford driven by Ryan Blaney will start at the rear of the field for tonight’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Darlington Raceway for improperly mounted ballast.

As a result, crew chief Todd Gordon has been suspended and the team has been issued a 10-point driver/owner penalty.

Blaney was set to start 7th in tonight’s race. He originally had 2013 playoff points in the seeded standings after Daytona, but now he 2003 after the penalty.
