The Arizona Diamondbacks are open to trading not only closer Archie Bradley, but also center fielder Starling Marte, The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reported Sunday.
Both players are under club control for only one more season after this one. The team could move Ketel Marte back to center field, or possibly play Daulton Varsho in that spot, assuming Marte is dealt away from Arizona, as Rosenthal notes.
Marte is batting .322 with an .856 OPS, and is owed about $1.75M for the rest of the season with a $12.5M club option for 2021.
Bradley is owed about $620K for the rest of the season. His salary will increase in 2021 from the original $4.1M this season in his final year of arbitration.
Additionally, outfielder David Peralta also has intrigued teams, and interest in pitcher Robbie Ray is waning due to his recent struggles, according to Bob Nightengale.
