CHICAGO — Chicago police have added 81 new probationary police officers, or PPOs, to stations across the city, CPD Supt. David Brown announced Monday.
The officers were given their first assignments last weekend, following six months of police training. The training consisted of education on laws, policies, and protocols.
Field training officers will be assigned to work with PPOs for the next three months in an effort to build more relationships with the community.
