The New York Yankees acquired right-handed minor-league pitcher Addison Russ from the Philadelphia Phillies, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan on Friday.

The Yankees are sending right-handed pitcher David Hale to the Phillies in return for Russ, according to Ken Rosenthal and Matt Gelb.

Russ will immediately head to New York’s alternate training site, according to Passan. The 25-year-old right-hander has been dominant over his minor league career, with a 2.48 ERA and 200 strikeouts in 152.2 innings.

Hale has played pitched in five games for the Yankees this season and has posted a 3.00 ERA across six innings of work. The Yankees designated Hale for assignment earlier this week.
