Pearson last pitched Tuesday night against the Baltimore Orioles going four innings, allowing four hits, five runs and three walks with three strikeouts. According to Montoyo, Pearson reported his elbow issue to the team after the game and is feeling better Wednesday morning.
In four starts, Pearson has a 6.61 ERA and 14 strikeouts this season.
In other Blue Jays news, Montoyo confirmed Wednesday that Chase Anderson and Trent Thornton will start in Thursday’s doubleheader against the Phillies. Montoyo said first baseman Rowdy Tellez is feeling better after entering concussion protocol Monday and could be available Thursday.
