Report: WWE halts plans for summer live shows

WWE’s plans to produce live shows this summer are apparently on hold.

Fightful Select (subscription required) is reporting that “several within WWE were notified that the planned shows with audiences — specifically Lakeland, which we reported — had been delayed.”

Other than the shows being delayed, there were no other details provided regarding them.

“WWE had told us initially the information wasn’t correct, but was corroborated by several other outlets before the shows were delayed,” the site also reported.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, WWE has been taping shows at uts Performance Center facility in Orlando, Florida. Multiple outlets reported last week that WWE has seen at least dozens of positive tests for the virus among its workers, which includes on-air talent.
