New COVID-19 cases in Ontario, Nova Scotia raise Canada’s total to over 69,000

Nova Scotia on Monday reported another COVID-19 case at the Northwood long-term care home in Halifax, and one new case of coronavirus infection.

Additionally, Ontario confirmed 308 new coronavirus cases, for a total of 20,546 so far in the outbreak. This brings the Canadian total to 69,157 cases overall with 4,971 deaths.

Also, the number of U.S. travellers entering Canada by car fell by nearly 97% in April from the same month in 2019. The number of Canadians returning from the United States by automobile was down 95% compared with the same month in 2019.
