Windy City basketball has hit a rough patch. Or two.
Despite interest from the Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat Vice President of Basketball Operations Adam Simon will remain the team, a team spokesman told The Athletic’s Andre Fernandez on Monday.
Simon, who also serves as the Heat’s assistant general manager, is one of two executives who have declined to interview with the Bulls for their top basketball operations position.
Indiana Pacers general manager Chad Buchanan has also decided to stay put, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Charania noted that “Buchanan expressed appreciation and positivity about Bulls, but he and his family have been treated well in Indianapolis and opted to remain.”
On Friday, ESPN reported that the Bulls have embarked on a formal search process to hire a new top executive “with full authority on basketball decisions.”
