Coronavirus fills White House schedule as bug spreads in US

President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence will dedicate much of Monday working to prevent a full-on coronavirus outbreak in the U.S.

Trump, eager to halt a market panic and quiet Democratic criticism, will host pharmaceutical executives at 3 p.m. Monday in the White House cabinet room to discuss efforts to produce a vaccine.

The coronavirus killed its first two Americans this weekend — as scientists warned the virus may have spread widely in the U.S. without detection.
