The LA Clippers, who sit third in the Western Conference standings, are exploring the trade market for dependable size as well as potential wing depth in advance of the Feb. 6 trade deadline, the New York Times’ Marc Stein reported Thursday.
Stein stated that it doesn’t guarantee that the Clippers will make a deal, but they are said to be “concerned about their lack of muscle up front compared to the Los Angeles Lakers’ length as well as the ongoing health issues Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are battling.”
The Dallas Mavericks are also in the market for a wing upgrade, and they are exploring their options for a move to bolster its frontline, Stein also reported. The Mavericks are already feeling the effects of the season-ending loss of center Dwight Powell.
Other than the big names of Andre Drummond and Steven Adams is Phoenix Suns center Aron Baynes.
The Suns are not shopping center Aron Baynes, league sources told Stein. However, Phoenix has also not ruled out moving him before the Feb. 6 deadline if a team meets their trade price.
