The New England Patriots have traded CB Duke Dawson and the team’s 2020 seventh-round draft pick to the Denver Broncos for Denver’s 2020 sixth-rounder, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Friday.
Dawson, who was drafted by the Patriots in the second round (56th overall) of the 2018 draft, was placed on injured reserve prior to the start of the 2018 regular season. He was then activated to the 53-man roster from injured reserve on Nov. 13, but was inactive for the final six regular season games and all three postseason games.
In his collegiate career at Florida, Dawson played in 48 games and posted 82 tackles, six interceptions, three interception returns for touchdowns and 23 passes defensed. He earned Second Team All-SEC accolades from the Associated Press as a senior in 2017.
