San Francisco Giants infielder Pablo Sandoval will undergo UCL reconstructive surgery on his right elbow, and will have the procedure done the first week of September, the team announced Saturday.
The Giants announced that Pablo Sandoval will have Tommy John surgery the first week of September. Terrible news for a guy who resurrected his career. He had said for a couple of weeks that he felt his elbow was in really bad shape.

Sandoval was evaluated by Dr. Neal ElAttrache on Wednesday in Los Angeles, and Dr. ElAttrache recommended that Sandoval undergo the surgery.
Sandoval has been on the injured list since Aug. 9 as he dealt with inflammation in his elbow. The surgery will likely keep him sidelined for the entire 2020 season.
