The National Hockey League announced Friday that the New York Rangers will play their 2019-20 regular season home opener on October 3rd against the Winnipeg Jets.
Additionally, in announcing all 31 temas’ home openers, the Rangers will face the Senators in Ottawa on October 5.
In 2018-19, the Rangers were swept by the Jets in the regular season series, with a 4-3 shootout loss in Winnipeg on December 2, and another 4-3 loss at The Garden on February 12. In the all-time series, the Rangers are 29-22-1-11 (W-L-T-OL) against the Jets/Thrashed franchise.
Against the Senators, the Rangers dropped the 2018-19 regular season series two wins to one, earning a 4-2 win on November 26 at The Garden, earning a 3-0 in Ottawa on November 29, and losing 4-1 on April 3 at The Garden. In the all-time series, the Rangers are 42-46-3-4 (W-L-T-OL) against the Senators.
Against the old Ottawa Senators franchise that lasted from 1917-18 to 1933-34, the Rangers went 17-6-9-0 (W-L-T-OL) all-time.
The Rangers’ full 2019-20 regular season schedule will be announced on Tuesday, June 25 at 12pm ET.
