Immediately after Game 1 of the NBA Finals, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green briefly exchanged words with Toronto rapper Drake, who was sitting courtside.
As Green and the Warriors were walking off the court, Green approached Drake and initiated a conversation. It wasn’t clear what exactly was said, but it ended with Drake shaking his head and appearing to yell “trash” at Green and his teammate Stephen Curry, who helped usher Green away from the rapper.
During his postgame press conference, Green declined to answer questions about the conversation.
“You got a question about basketball? It wasn’t really a scuffle, because I didn’t hit him and he didn’t hit me,” Green said.
Prior to the start of the Finals, Green said he wasn’t worried about the rapper’s notorious in-game antics.

“Drake can’t shoot, nor can he pass,” Green said. “You ever seen Drake play basketball? I saw a couple highlights. They wasn’t so high. So I really don’t care.”
After the game, Drake posted a bizarre video of him touching Curry’s hair in the middle of the game to Instagram, and wrote “DraymondShouldntWear23” all as one word in the caption.
The rapper was more subdued than normal during Game 1 of the Finals, but he did taunt Klay Thompson with the “Hotline Bling” dance after a technical foul. The gesture may have been in response to Thompson dissing the song prior to the start of the Finals.
Drake also wore a Dell Curry Raptors jersey to the game, and it wasn’t clear if he was trying to support Steph or just troll him.
The Raptors defeated the Warriors 118-109 in Game 1, and Green had a triple double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
