The New York Islanders announced Thursday they have signed center Brock Nelson to a six-year contract extension.
SiriusXM NHL reporter David Pagnotta reported Thursday that the deal is worth $36 million (AAV of $6 million).

Nelson has played every season of his career with the Islanders, dating back to the 2013-14 season. The Warroad, Minnesota native has posted career totals of 124 goals and 241 points (117 assists), and posted 25 goals and 53 points (28 assists) in 2018-19.
In the 2019 playoffs, Nelson posted four goals and had 22 shots on goal in eight games. He spent the majority of the 2018-19 season on the first forward line centering Leo Komarov and Josh Bailey.
