Prospect Watch

Winstob-Salem Dash LHP Konnor Pilkington turned in a six-inning gem yesterday, holding the Down East Wood Ducks scoreless and striking out a career-best 12 batters.

Latman passes away

Right-hander Barry Latman, who won eight games for the 1959 American League champion White Sox, passed away April 28, just weeks shy of his 83rd birthday.

Latman was with the Sox for three seasons (1957–59) and also pitched for the Indians, Angels and Astros in his 11-year major-league career. He was on the ’59 Sox World Series roster, but didn’t appear in the fall classic vs. his hometown Los Angeles Dodgers.
